家族に関する英単語は、日本でも早い段階で習うので、ほとんどの方が知っていると思います。

でも、義理の父や義理の母などは知らない方も多いのではないでしょうか。

日本語では義父や単身赴任など、一言で表すことができることが、英語では複数の単語を組み合わせる必要があります。

単身赴任は、どちらかと言えば日本やアジアの文化で、欧米では出張こそあっても単身赴任をするくらいなら、家族一緒に引っ越すことが多いので、それに相当する単語がないのかもしれません。
